God of This City
April 15, 2008 at 10:58 pm (General) (greater things, God of this city, worship, strip bar, Chris Tomlin, Bluetree)
Sing it and Pray it, and believe it.
Here is another great youTube version of the song.
The Story behind the song is this:
Hey, just to clarify, the song was written by us (bluetree) while we lead worship in a strip bar when we were on a mission trip to Thailand. Several months later we did a gig with Chris Tomlin here in Belfast, Ireland and his guitarist heard it and that is how we all got hooked up together. Hope that helps. Andy

Lyrics:
You’re the God of this City
You’re the King of these people
You’re the Lord of this nation
You are
You’re the light in this darkness
You’re the hope to the hopeless
You’re the peace to the restless
You are
There is noone like our God
There is noone like our God
For greater things have yet to come
And greater things are still to be done in this city.
You’re the Lord of Creation
The Creator of all things
You’re the King above all Kings
You are
You’re the strength in our weakness
You’re the love to the broken
You’re the joy in the sadness
You are
There is noone like our God
There is noone like our God
For greater things have yet to come
And greater things are still to be done in this city.
For greater things have yet to come
And greater things are still to be done here.
