Sam & Swift – An Answered Prayer

I can see her still, through blinding tears, as she stood that night before that critical and only half sympathetic audience – a slender, delicate, cultured woman – and preached the truth as I had seldom, if ever, heard it preached, in language simple, yet delicately refined, and searching as a fire to the consciences of men.

I feel in love with her at first sight, and lost my heart.

Above is a quote from Samuel Logan Brengle, of Elizabeth Swift taken from Chapter 10 of “Elizabeth Swift Brengle“, a Biography by Brigadier Eileen Douglas. Salvationist Publishing and Supplies, Ltd. London, 1922. Reproduced below.

We shall win.

"The decree has gone forth that the kingdoms of this world shall become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ and that He shall reign whose right it is from the River to the ends of the earth. We shall win. It is only a question of time. I believe that this Movement shall inaugurate the final conquest of our Lord Jesus Christ."
